Increasing data transfer rates and the proliferation of "smart" mobile devices are demanding ever higher data rates. Fiber solutions are more expensive, require restructuring, and are difficult to deploy everywhere. That's why more and more data centers are relying on Cat8.1 cables.
The graph below clearly shows the difference between Cat8.1 cables and cables with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a and Cat7. A Cat7 cable can reach a bandwidth of 600 MHz up to 1500 MHz. The Cat8.1 towers above with a bandwidth of 2000 MHz, or 2Ghz. A Cat8.1 even has four times the bandwidth of Cat6a. This means that more applications can be used simultaneously over the same cable.
