We are regularly asked what a keystone is. Read it here!

A keystone is a loose connection that can be placed in empty patch panels or wall sockets. With keystones you can put together your patch panels or wall sockets exactly as you wish. Mounting a cable on a keystone is very easy using LSA strips. A keystone is used to make a connection at a desired location. A keystone has an RJ45 port on one side and an LSA strip on the back or inside the keystone on the other side.

A keystone can be used to extend or move an internet cable .

Keystones are held in place by means of a stranded suspension. This ensures that they can be snapped (Snap In) into a keystone wall socket or a keystone patch panel with ports of the same size.

Stiff cable

Do you want to use keystones? Then it is important that you use a stiff internet cable. stranded cables cannot be connected to LSA strips.

B standard

Keystones have an LSA strip with two color sequences. This is indicated by T568A and T568B. In Europe the B standard is always used. When mounting a stiff cable on a keystone, the color order indicated in the B standard must be adhered to.

Color scheme

T568A: White-green, green, white-orange, blue, white-blue, orange, white-brown, brown
T568B: White-orange, orange, white-green, blue, white-blue, green, white-brown, brown
