Sometimes you buy an internet cable and it turns out to be just a tad too short. It's incredibly annoying and, above all, a waste of time and money. Your first thought will likely be to return it, but this is often not possible because the cable is already pulled through the wall. Even if it is, it's often the more expensive solution. Extending your existing internet cable is actually very easy, without losing any data!

How do I extend an internet cable?

Your internet cable is easy to extend with our RJ45 couplers . Couplers are small blocks with an RJ45 internet port on both ends. These RJ45 internet ports can also be found on your router, modem, PC, and laptop, for example. You can easily connect your short cable to the coupler by pushing the connector into the RJ45 port, just like you would on your laptop or PC. On the other end of the block, you can still reach your destination with a shorter cable.

Using a coupler doesn't negatively impact your internet speed, so you won't experience data loss. Couplers, like RJ45 connectors, are available in various versions. There are unshielded couplers, which you can use with an unshielded (UTP) cable. Shielded couplers are also available; these should be used with a shielded (FTP, S/FTP) cable.
