Overvoltage protection (SPD): Overvoltage protection (SPD)
A switch is a useful solution for users who want to easily expand their home network and meet their online gaming, multimedia transfer and streaming needs. The plug-and-play design makes it easy for users to connect network devices such as PCs, network storage and print servers to the home network without the need for any manual configuration.
What is a network switch?
A switch is a handy device for making multiple connections from one wired network connection. Ideal right? This all happens without data loss. A switch can be compared to a power strip, the principle is the same. With a network switch, one port is used to access the internet. The remaining ports are then provided with internet. If you buy a 16 port switch, you create 15 extra internet outputs.
Which switch do I need?
If you want to buy a switch, first check how many devices you will connect to the switch. Keep in mind that 1 port on the switch will be lost to the internet. If you want to connect 5 devices to a switch, you need at least an 8-port switch. It is also useful to know what internet speed you have at home. If you have a network between 0 - 100 Mbps, an Ethernet switch is sufficient. Everything above that requires a Gigabit switch. Do you want to be well prepared for the future? Then we always recommend a Gigabit switch.
